About TEC

Since 1996, Eurotec has been at the pinnacle of powder application technology with its unique charging system “Total Energy Control”, which gives automatic control of both current and voltage.  Developed by our own R & D department, “TEC” has revolutionised the way we electrostatically apply powder; the benefits are numerous and significant.  With the launch of the 400 series equipment we have expanded the “TEC” options, as well as the original, now called “TEC 1”, where the input voltage controls the system, “TEC 2” controls the input current.  With this introduction Eurotec with “TEC” continues to lead the field in powder coating technology worldwide.

"TEC” is used to automatically control the discharge energy of the spray gun depending upon the distance to earth of the gun nozzle, up to a maximum of 85kV and 50μA with “TEC 1” and 85kV, 100μA with “TEC 2”.  As the spray gun approaches earth the discharge current and voltage are reduced from these ‘maximum’ settings, lowering the energy at this point, this prevents overcharging of the product surface when the gun is in close proximity.  In “TEC 1” the working distance in the maximum setting is 250 – 300mm.

Controlling the input current in “TEC 2” extends the “TEC” system, with a high current, 100μA, most ‘dry blend’ metallic’s are easier to apply and with a low current setting the distance over which the system works is increased, useful for automatic gun installations.
